In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded in action on 14 September 1862 on South Mountain, MD.

The remainder of the War:
He deserted January 20, 1863 from the General Hospital, Washington, DC.

After the War:
By 1905 he was a carpenter and farmer living in Knox, IN.
