Before the Antietam Campaign:
Age 43 years. Enlisted October 2, 1861, at Windsor, to serve three years; mustered in as Musician, Co. G, October 16, 1861.

The remainder of the War:
He was discharged for disability October 22, 1862 at Pleasant Valley, MD. He again enlisted on January 1, 1864 and was appointed musician, no date. He died of diarrhoea in December 1864, at Windsor, NY.
