Age 19 years. Enlisted September 3, 1861, at Windsor, to serve three years; mustered in as Private, Co. G, October 16, 1861.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was mortally wounded in action on 14 September 1862 on South Mountain.

The remainder of the War:
He died October 15, 1862 in hospital.
