He enlisted in the Louisiana Guard Artillery on Feb. 1st, 1862 in New Orleans. He was wounded inn action Wounded at Manassas, VA on Aug. 30th, 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded again, in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

By September 1863 he had been declared a deserter - "Has long since recovered. Did not return to his company nor can his whereabouts be discovered".
