He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The remainder of the War:
Wounded again, in action at Fredericksburg, VA on December 13, 1862. Wounded in the foot and disabled at Gettysburg, PA on July 1, 1863. Discharged for disability, March 16, 1864.
