Before Antietam

He enlisted in Company B, 8th Ohio Infantry (3 months) in April 1861. He then reenlisted in Company B, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 28 (20) on 13 June 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

Wounded again, at Gettysburg, PA on 3 July 1863. Then in hospital at Philadelphia, PA. Mustered out with his Company on 13 July 1864.

After the War

He married Anna Cathrine Loehr (b. NY, 1847 - 1922) in Eaton County, Michigan in June 1865. He was listed as living in Tiffin, OH at the time of the Regimental Reunion at Gettysburg in September 1887. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), A.S. Williams Post 40, in Charlotte at the time of his death.
