He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

He was appointed Corporal on 1 November 1862. He was discharged 27 March 1863 at Philadelphia, PA on a Surgeon's Certificate of disability.

After the War

He was listed as living in Akron, OH at the time of the Regimental Reunion at Gettysburg in September 1887.
