He enlisted 4 June 1861, at Camp Moore, LA, in Company F, 6th Louisiana Infantry. He was a lawyer in New Orleans, age 22 when enlisted, and single. He was promoted First Lieutenant on 27 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He returned to his Company, but was reported absent, without leave, since 22 February 1863. No further military record.
