Basic information from Carruth1. A 35 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam. He was detailed to the Regimental Pioneer Corps, and injured with an axe in 1863. He was discharged on 24 June 1865.
