Basic information from Carruth1. A 19 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Jackson, MS. He was transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps in 1864. He died 12 June 1879 and was buried in Newburyport.
