He mustered as 1st Corporal (Company not given), 5th Florida Infantry on 19 April 1862. He transferred to Gregory's Company (Company H) the same day.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He lost his left leg from his Sharpsburg wound and was discharged 19 December 1862 at Staunton, VA.

Basic information from State of Florida1. His gravesite is on Findagrave, source of additional details from his service records. There is a fine post-War photo of him online from the Florida State Archives. It shows a combination crutch/prosthesis he apparently made himself for his left leg.
