Promoted Ordnance (or Orderly) Sergeant 20 September 1862. Brevetted 2nd Lieutenant on 11 October 1862, commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 10 June 1863, and First Lieutenant on 6 February 1864.

After the War

He may have moved to Texas, and died in Alabama.
