The rest of the War

Promoted 4th Sergeant January 1, 1863. Present in action in most engagements to the siege of Petersburg in 1864, having been left in Gettysburg, PA (July 1863) to nurse the wounded, being disabled from wounds received at Fredericksburg. He was wounded through the left cheek at Deep Bottom, VA in July 1864.
