Before the Antietam Campaign:
He was a married farmer from Huntsville, AL when he enlisted as Private on 26 April 1861 in Company F, 4th Alabama Infantry. He was present with his Company in engagements from First to Second Manassas.

In the Antietam Campaign:
Present in action on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg.

The remainder of the War:
Present with his Company in action in most engagements to Chickamauga, GA where he was wounded on 19 September 1863. No additional record.
