The rest of the War

He was in action from Fredericksburg, VA in December 1862 through to the siege of Petersburg, VA in 1864. He was appointed First Sergeant on 1 July 1864. He was wounded in action on 24 September 1864 (place not given) and surrendered with his Company at Appomattox Courthouse, VA on 9 April 1865.
