A married 28 year old farmer from Radsfordville, he enrolled in Company A, 8th Alabama Infantry on 8 May 1861. He was present at Yorktown, Williamsburg, Seven Pines, Gaines Mill, Fraziers Farm, and 2nd Manassas in 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
