A 33 year old leather finisher in Philadelphia, he enlisted and mustered there on 19 December 1861 as Private, Company E, 90th Pennsylvania Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He reenlisted on 16 February 1864 in Culpeper, VA and transferred to Company E, 11th Pennsylvania Infantry. He was captured in action at Weldon Railroad, VA on 19 August 1864 with no further record.
