A 24 year old mechanic from Fayette County, he enlisted in Company I, 11th Alabama Infantry on 11 June 1861.

On the Campaign

He was in Maryland with his Company but died, probably of disease, at a hospital in Hagerstown, MD on 8 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was initially buried in a plot near the Alms House in Hagerstown. and may have been reinterred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown some years later.
