A 27 year old jeweler from Attleboro, he enlisted in Company F, 19th Massachusetts Infantry on 24 August 1861. He was wounded in action at Glendale, VA on 30 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded again, mortally, in the arm in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds 25 September 1862 at Winchester, VA (while a prisoner?).
