Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted in Gonzales County as a Private in Company A, 4th Texas Infantry on 22 March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was present, but sick, at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He served with his Company to about December 1864, when he was sick in hospitals in Richmond, VA. He was furloughed on 4 February 1865 and returned to duty 21 March 1865. He was in a Richmond hospital again on 3 April 1865 with no later military record.
