Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted in Robertson County as a Private in Company C, 4th Texas Infantry on 15 July 1861. He was in hospitals in Richmond and Petersburg, VA hospital with dysentery from 28 April to July 1862.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed in November 1862 and not back with his Company until at least April 1863. He was wounded again, severely, by a gunshot to his shoulder at Gettysburg, PA and died of his wounds in a US hospital on 7 July 1863.
