Before Sharpsburg

A 20 year old cook in New Orleans, he enlisted as Corporal, Company I, 10th Louisiana Infantry 22 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was promoted to 5th Sergeant in October 1861 and 3rd Sergeant on 1 February 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
