Before Sharpsburg

A 22 year old farmer in Lake Charles, LA, he enlisted as Sergeant, Company K, 10th Louisiana Infantry 22 July 1861. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 18 January 1862.

On the Campaign

He was senior man present in his Company and commanded it at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was captured in action 12 May 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House, VA. He was at Fort Delaware and exchanged at Cox's Wharf, James River, VA on 15 October 1864. He was killed in action at Fort Stedman near Petersburg, VA on 25 March 1865.
