Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted at Waco, TX as a Private in Company E, 4th Texas Infantry on 13 July 1861. He was absent, sick, from 10 August to 5 September 1862.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was mortally wounded by a gunshot in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was sent to the CSA General Hospital in Staunton, VA and died there of his wounds on 22 November 1862.
