Before Antietam

An 18 year old laborer in Lowell, he enlisted there on 26 August 1861 and mustered as Private, Company B, 29th Massachusetts Infantry. He was captured at Savage Station, VA on 30 June 1862 and held in Richmond, VA. He was paroled at Aiken's Landing, VA on 5 August and sent to Camp Parole, Annapolis, MD. He returned to duty, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
