A 21 year old planter, he enlisted as Private, Company F, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not known. He was appointed 4th Corporal on 27 July 1861 and 5th Sergeant on 24 April 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 and was later listed on the Confederate Roll of Honor for his bravery there.
