Before Antietam

From Philadelphia, he enlisted as Private, Company C, 106th Pennsylvania Infantry on 4 October 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Corporal on 1 March 1863 and wounded again, at Gettysburg on 3 July 1863. He transferred to Company F, 106th Battalion to serve out his enlistment and was discharged on 6 October 1864.
