A 27 year old mechanic, he enlisted on 1 May 1861 in Corinth as Private, Company A, 2nd Mississippi Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was paroled on 21 September. He was captured again, at Gettysburg, PA on 1 July 1862 and died of scurvy while a prisoner at Fort Delaware on 29 May 1865.
