Before Sharpsburg

A 19 year old farmer from Rienzi, he enlisted on 10 July 1861 in Winchester, VA as Private, Company A, 2nd Mississippi Infantry. He was slightly wounded in the leg at First Manassas on 21 July. He was wounded at 2nd Manassas on 29 August 1862 and hospitalized in Richmond.

On the Campaign

He was probably wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, in the right thigh at Gettysburg, PA on 1 July 1863 and hospitalized on the 17th. He was appointed 4th Corporal on 1 May 1864 but mortally wounded at the Weldon Railroad, VA on 19 August 1864 and died two days later.
