A 21 year old farmer in Pontotoc, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not known. He was wounded at Gaines' Mill, VA on 27 June 1862 and was listed on the Confederate Roll of Honor for bravery there.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
