He is listed in the 1860 Grimes County census in Anderson P.O.; age 22; born MS; farmer; son of Sarah Scott. He enlisted 19 July 1861 at Harrisburg, Texas as Private in Company G, 4th Texas Infantry.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
