On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded by a gunshot in action at Boonsboro (Turner's Gap) on South Mountain, MD on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was in the SC Hospital in Manchester, VA on 27 September 1862. He was captured at the Crater at Petersburg, VA on 30 July 1864 and held at Point Lookout, MD, then transferred to Elmira, NY on 12 August. He died there of pneumonia on 18 May 1865.
