An unmarried 25 year old laborer in New Orleans, he enlisted as Private in Company D, 7th Louisiana Infantry on 7 June 1861 at Camp Moore, LA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

His leg was amputated and he was in a hospital in Richmond, VA to at least April 1863. He was then detailed to the Richmond Confederate Arsenal to at least February 1864. He was on duty to about October 1864 with no further military record.
