Before Antietam

A 24 year old farmer in Wyoming County, he enlisted on 15 May 1861 in Harrisburg. He mustered into service as Sergeant, Company B, 12th Pennsylvania Reserves on 10 August.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds at the Smoketown hospital on 30 October 1862.
