Before Sharpsburg

A 30 year old farmer at Level Land in the Abbeville District, he enlisted as First Sergeant, Company B on 15 April 1861. He was elected 3rd Lieutenant on 2 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was mortally wounded at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 and captured, and died of wounds on 18 July.
