Before Sharpsburg

A 36 year old mechanic at Edgefield Court House, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 7th South Carolina Infantry 15 April 1861. He was elected First Lieutenant on the reorganization of 13 May 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on the Campaign, on Maryland Heights on 13 September or at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 December 1862 and furloughed for 30 days. He was killed at Chickamauga, GA on 20 September 1863.
