Before Sharpsburg

Age 17, from Indian Hill, Abbeville District, SC, he enlisted as a Private in Company C, 7th South Carolina Infantry on 15 April 1861.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, by a gunshot to his right leg at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 8 May 1864. He was treated at Richmond Hospitals and furloughed on 27 May with no further military record.

After the War

By 1870 he was a successful farmer at Indian Hill in Abbeville County, SC but was working on a railroad in Arkansas when he was killed in 1883.
