Before the Antietam Campaign: Served in the Regular Army 1855-58 and saw action in Mexico. In 1861 he was made Colonel of the 11th GA Regiment. He then commanded a brigade in D.R. Jones' Division during Seven Days and Second Manassas campaigns. In the Antietam Campaign: Commanded Anderson's (GA) Brigade in D.R. Jones' Division. Led the Brigade in the fighting (where?). The remainder of the War: Appointed BGen. in November 1862 he commanded his Brigade in Hood's Division at Fredericksburg Suffolk Gettysburg (where he was wounded) Chickamauga and Knoxville. He led his Brigade in Field's Division at the Wilderness Spotsylvania Cold Harbor Petersbu After the War: He was a freight agent police chief and tax collector. | |
