He was wounded in action near Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, at Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May 1863. He was captured at Nashville, TN on 15 December 1864, held at Camp Douglas, IL until paroled and sent home on 18 June 1865.
