An unmarried 24 year old farmer at Ashville, he enlisted there as Private, Company A, 10th Alabama Infantry on 1 March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was captured in action at the siege of Harpers Ferry 13 - 15 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was exchanged about December 1862 and returned to duty, but was killed at Salem Church, VA on 3 May 1863.

His service from the State of Alabama.1 His brother Alamoth was also in Company A.
