He enlisted as a Private in Company K, 13th Georgia Infantry on 3 September 1861 in Richmond, VA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded by a gunshot in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to the CSA General Hospital in Charlottesville, VA on 23 September, transferred to Lynchburg on the 24th, and was on furlough to 11 December 1862. He was wounded again, on 29 April 1863 at Fredericksburg, VA, in hospitals in Richmond, VA and Petersburg to October 1863, then home on a furlough. He was with his Company to at least February 1865, the latest military record.
