He was wounded in the leg in action at Sharpsburg, MD on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was in a Richmond, VA hospital by 27 October 1862 and was away from his Company, in hospitals wounded or sick, to about October 1863. He was killed while on picket duty on 18 October 1864, place not given.
