Before the Antietam Campaign: He was 20 years old at enlistment. He mustered in as private, Company I, on September 20, 1861. Transferred to Company C in January or February, 1862. In the Antietam Campaign: Wounded in action, slightly, leg, on 17 September 1862. The remainder of the War: Transferred to Company B on June 12, 1863. He was discharged for disability on January 9, 1864, at Convalescent Camp, Va., as Conroy. His name is also borne as Conrey.
