Age 28 at enlistment. Mustered in as private, Company D, on September 16, 1861.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was mortally wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The remainder of the War:
MSHWR says ìShot wound of right arm, with fracture of upper third of the humerus. Amputation of arm at shoulder joint on September 17th. Haemorrhage from axillary artery. Died September 22, 1862.î
