In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded in action, thigh, on 17 September 1862.

The remainder of the War:
Transferred to Company A on June 12, 1863. He re-enlisted as a veteran on December 21, 1863. Promoted to Corporal, no date. Killed in action on May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.
