Before the Antietam Campaign:
A 23 year old moulder from Newburyport, he enlisted as Private on 2 September 1861. He had prior service in Company A of the 3-month 8th Massachusetts Infantry.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was listed as a deserter on 17 September 1862.

After the War:
He's in the 1870-1900 Federal Censuses living in Manhattan, New York, working as an iron moulder. He died sometime before 1910.
