Basic information from Commonwealth of Massachusetts1. He had previously served in Company F of the 5th Massachusetts Volunteer Militia (100 days). He was a 19 year old machinist living in Canton on 6 August 1862. He was missing in action at Gettysburg on 1 July 1863. Discharged for wounds from hospital in Boston on 15 September 1863.
