Before the Antietam Campaign: He was age 20 when he enlisted in Rochester, and he mustered in as Private, Company H, 108th New York Infantry on 24 July 1862. The remainder of the War: He died of disease 22 December 1862 in Frederick, MD and was buried there. He was reinterred in the National Cemetery during or before 1867.
