Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 21 year old mechanic in New Hartford, CT, and was listed as Jerome Case. He enlisted as a Private in Company A, 16th Connecticut Infantry on 7 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He died of disease at Sharpsburg, MD on 12 October 1862.

After the War

He was originally buried on the battlefield but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
