Before Antietam

A 20 year old farmer, he enlisted in Company E of the 12th US Infantry at Burlington, VT on 4 January 1862.

On the Campaign

He was sick on the Campaign and died of typhoid fever at a hospital in Frederick, MD on 2 November 1862.

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial in Frederick to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
